What is blastocyst culture?

Blastocyst culture is the term commonly used to describe the culture of embryos until they are 5 days old. A blastocyst has a large number of cells and consists of 2 distinct cell types. Around 40% of embryos will reach the blastocyst stage and will have a higher chance of implantation once transferred.
